Has anyone here ever tried these? I shouldn't have bought it - I couldn't find the Chaga, so I went with the Reishi, but it's still too expensive - but people keep going on about it. The one I got is Reishi Cocoa Tea, I think it has dandelion mixed in, as well.
(Posting this here for now, because there isn't another forum for it.)

I just recently noticed how pretty the Reishi packaging was...couldn't believe the price...$8.50 I think?
Does it taste good?

I added a mix of coconut and almond milk, with a bit of xylitol. I wanted to do this "hibernate" course again this year, but couldn't afford it. I've checked out the instagram feed for those involved, and there were pictures of chaga hot chocolate. I need to google for a recipe, or see if someone has posted it there, because it looked more appetizing than the tea. http://instagram.com/p/BQN5YkXgGQV

Oh, look at that! I wasn't expecting it to show the instagram picture.

So it's nothing really special? But now that I'm curious I probably will try it... I'll let you know how it goes.

It's supposed to be really good for you - I'll let you know if it has a positive effect for me. I was hoping it would help my digestion, and my frame of mind. I also have a mushroom powder somewhere, that I bought for mum last year, the month before she went into the hospital. I've only just remembered that. It was a supplement, not tea.

I think it was more palatable as a mild tea. 😑 I wish I had the tastebuds of people who love this stuff. I did find that it's only supposed to be brewed in 6oz of water, so there won't be so much to drink, the next time I make it (I can't waste $12 worth of tea).

I used to have red reishi tablets and they made me feel bad. Not sure what they did to me, but it wasn't great. I'd rather stick to vitamin d3 and cod liver oil gel capsules for a mood and immune system boost. If you're looking for something along the lines of reishi and aren't vegan, I would recommend colostrum which you can get via iherb.
I have an autoimmune disease which occasionally wreaks havoc on my health, so I tend to work closely with doctors who always agree with vitamin d and cod liver oil. I haven't really asked about other supplements.

Every so often, I think of colostrum (mum ordered a huge tub, seven years ago, but I can't swallow capsules, and I couldn't keep down the powder mixed in something). I've started to take Vitamin D3 again, and I'm taking rhodiola for depression, and energy. I drank most of the hot chocolate last night, and it ended up not being so bad (I let it grow cold, and sipped at it every so often). I still feel too depressed this morning, though. I started with the D3 again, because I realized that when I had a cold that only lasted about five days, just over a year ago, and it wasn't terrible, I was taking D3 (liquid in water).

Supplements don't work overnight for me. It would take 3-4 weeks of consistent use to feel a small difference with D3. However, I find the most change with cod liver oil and calmness within a day or two.
Colostrum makes me so freaking hungry so I have that prior to sleeping so I don't eat the pillow.

Nice to see you at this forum, minceymouse! I'm surprised Reishi tea is mushroom tea. I had supposed it was just the brand name. Because who on earth puts mushrooms in their tea? Doesn't sound tasty. I use dried shiitake mushrooms on a regular basis; they go in the vegetable soup I make all the time. Maybe that has a similar immune-boosting effect? Now I'm curious about the healing properties of each of the different mushrooms. Edit: goop.com/the-healing-power-of-mushrooms/Handy chart there except the font is almost microscopic.

For some reason, my dad had an immediate (bad) reaction to Vitamin D tablets, last year. The doctor put him on it, when he refused antidepressants, after we lost my mother, and he came out in a hot rash around his neck. The rhodiola usually helps the same day. I only take it once, but you're supposed to take it three times a day. I use SAM-e when I can afford it. I can't stand anything fishy, but I used to take flax oil for the same reasons. It relaxes me, and also a plus: it helps to sort out my hair.

Considering you can't take fishy things, there should be DHA and EPA non-fish supplements. Cod liver oil just happens to be the richest source. No more than 2 to 4 grams of the supplement each day though (I find US supplements to be a bit overkill with the daily % as more is not always better). "If you don't eat fish, you can get DHA and EPA in foods such as seaweed, lamb, beef, egg, game meat and poultry. Alpha-linoleic fatty acid -- found in oils such as canola, soy and flaxseed -- can also be converted to DHA and EPA in the body. Fatty acid levels of these sources are significantly lower than the levels in seafood, and you may need further supplementation. A fish oil supplement can provide lacking DHA and EPA." Tonight, I visited my usual health food store, to buy more Rhodiola, and saw Reishi sitting right next to it. It costs just over $15 (ouch), but is another option, versus the tea.

I got that liquid reishi supplement, about a month ago, and have used it here and there. I think it might have helped when I developed a fever, the day after I bought it - I was stressed, and already feeling rundown, I think that's what brought on the fever. I took a dose the night before it hit me, another dose on the Saturday morning. Once I was out of the house that evening, I felt really awful, and felt like I would pass out in the grocery store, so I called dad, and asked him to come in and help me. Came home shaking and freezing, sure I'd wake up with a cold the next day, but once the fever broke, I was okay. Still very tired, but no cold.

So it's nothing really special? But now that I'm curious I probably will try it... I'll let you know how it goes. I was reading a very persuasive article about the health benefits of mushrooms, so now I'm on a mushroom kick.... Bought this the other day at Whole Foods: The one on the left....cordyceps and chaga. Is this actually WORKING? I feel different but it's probably too soon to tell what's causing it....maybe just a transit or combination of things. My mind just feels like it's working better, can remember better, can hold onto and manipulate longer trains of thought.

I haven't tried them since early last year, but I know the Medical Medium has been going on about Chaga, and a woman I know regularly makes it into coffee. I bought some kind of mushroom powder for my mum, a month or so before she went into the hospital. She didn't try it, because I didn't know what to add it to - and then I found out that her staying in bed probably prevented a heart attack.
