justjuni I'm familiar with that suffering. Horrible. I hate that your friend had to endure it. Well as I get older I have a more objective understanding of the impact it had on me, watching my mother die of cancer when I was 14. Then my father was diagnosed about 2 years later. Then my brother, a few years after that. Like dominoes falling. Reading about cancer wasn't a hobby so much as a desperate attempt to dodge a bullet. I've been studying this for over 20 years, and I've read well over a hundred books (stopped counting). Currently I'm halfway through this one: The author wrote the book while he had a brain tumor, and he's since passed away. It infuriated me to see the internet smugly concluding he must've been wrong about his therapies........this man lived something like 20 times longer than the doctors thought he would, and he admitted he fell off the protocol. edit - ranting

Ava, please don`t borrow trouble. Do get it checked asap to have an answer. I don`t think I have heard of that particular cancer and a quick look at links , it is a scary disease for certain. I have a recheck mammo & ultrasound next month as they are keeping an eye on a lump in my left breast. I`ve worn myself out worrying about it so I have adjusted my mind set to zero. I will go with the flow and take it as it comes. You are in my thoughts and prayers for a positive result!!!!

You two are in my thoughts and just sending good and positive and stabilizing energy your direction.
And please let it get checked, both of you. I know, I tend to avoid doing that, too, but usually it just leads to unnesseccary worry, and it`s always better to know than to live in that uncertainty that is sucking any positive energy out of life.

Oh goodness. I know an athletic vegan - longtime or lifetime, I don't know - who was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has surgery coming up in the next week, I think. Cancer terrifies me. I've lost too many people to it, and it also annoys me when people mock alternative therapies - as though the regular therapies are doing any better?? A few people did that in a gastroparesis group last night, but others chimed in and told someone that they've been helped by certain things. Now I wish I'd gone to see one that my dad pointed out, when my stomach problem first started (couldn't keep much food or liquid down, even water, and still need to be careful). Because my well-being and my teeth have suffered, too.

Short lesson:
I just bought some Christmas cookies, Amaretti flavor...amaretti is derived from apricot kernels. I was happy to see these cheap cookies were made with apricot kernel flour (first ingredient!)
Recently threw away my bag of apricot kernels because they'd gotten old but will soon get a new bag. I eat little handfuls on a semi-regular basis.
