I may go on to more detail layer, but I'll start with the aspect itself. What do you all make of sun conjunct ascendant in Synastry. Is it generally a positive aspect? Does it matter if it's behind or ahead of the ascendant? Do 12th house conjunctions feel different than first house conjunctions?
The more in-depth part... There is a public figure that I have an immediate dislike to. I looked up her chart and was surprised to see that we have a sun conjunct Asc DW. Also her Moon conjunct my dsc, her leo mars sextile my sun, Mercury conjunct my Asc, trine my Venus and Saturn, and other aspects that normally should be harmonious enough. Except... Her Saturn is hard square my Mars. I know Saturn square Mars is a big one, but I didn't think it enough to explain an immediate dislike that I feel.

I thought it would be a positive aspect, but then again is it squaring the MC? I had a look at synastry i have someone i cant really take to from the day i met them. Funny enough their mars is conjunct my saturn(also their mercury is conj my prog saturn). Not a bad person but I just think she talks too much, too much noise pollution lol. That could be her mercury on my prog saturn. We have some other squares as well. I did date someone who had mars on my saturn i also thought they talked too much, it was like their verbal energy was too much for me or something. I dont know, they just talked ALOT.
I have often wondered that my self about conjunctions to the ASC coming from the 12th house. I have mars conj ASC DW with my bf, and my venus is also conj his asc. These conjunctions are tight coming from the 12th house. I find him very beautiful. I am a libra sun with libra ASC, my sun is still just about in the 11th house. But I have noticed where people have a few planets in my 12th house(with the exception of the moon), i dont seem to trust, though conjunctions to the ASC seem to be ok. For me conj to asc from the 12th feels different than just a 12th house overlay. It's as if the conj to the ASC is more obvious and transparent
pls dnt quote

For what it's worth, my parents had mars conjunct Saturn DW. They did eventually part, but it worked for a couple decades.
Maybe that conjunct asc coming from the twelfth just feels like someone raising the hairs on the back of your neck.

If my birth time is correct then my husband and I have this. I had a weird feeling about him when we first met but for months after that we didn't exactly gel...and neither of us could have imagined us ending up together. A mutual friend said we are like oil and water and predicted we could never be a couple.
But then the astrology got all fateful and stuff, long Uranian story.
The thing with Leo sun and Leo ASC is, both understand the need for attention, so give and take is intuitively understood. Just one positive factor.

I've dated a couple of people with their sun on my Asc before, even before I knew I was a Scorpio rising. They told me about being on the Libra Scorpio cusp. I started referring to them as "librascorps". So, that's part of why I found it surprising that I didn't care for this person.
I guess what I'm really getting at is... Is Saturn square Mars so strong that it can wreck everything else, even to a first impression? Or can things like Mercury conjunct Asc, or moon conjunct dsc go both positive and negative? Or, being a first impression of a person's public image be something else?
Her mc doesn't appear to interact with me, fwiw.

geminibluesI haven't much to offer from experience, but I have actually enjoyed Mars square Saturn synastry before, maybe because my natal Mars is tightly semisquare Saturn and quincunx my Cap sun, so the friction there is what I'm used to. I guess it often goes back to the natals like that. Maybe you will find answers in the composite? Is there something specific you dislike? Libra-Scorpios can be hypercritical; for some reason I usually get what they are saying so it doesn't affect me personally, but I do anticipate some abrasiveness.

Hello! My experience with this aspect has been mostly positive, but I've only had it in synastry twice - both times with me as the Sun (in Aries), and in the 1st house. With the first person, we had to work together on a project and we got along extremely well right away. There was no tension at all... It was easy to work well as a team and we had a very similar sense of humour. One would think with Aries being a competitive sign, that there would've been more drama - but everything was smooth sailing.
The second person is a friend of mine. I wouldn't say we were ever very close because in many ways we're different people... but she's definitely someone I like and enjoy spending time with whenever I see her.
And then there's my dog... who has his Ascendant in exact conjunction with my Sun (to the degree). I found out about this a while after we got him. I had a conversation with the breeder who turned out to be quite the astrologer - and she had the exact birth time noted. I'd say this was pretty serendipitous! I definitely felt an instant connection with my dog.
I do think that 12th vs 1st house conjunctions would feel very different in overall vibe. I guess a 12th house Sun... might feel a bit heavy or threatening in a sense... from the AC's perspective... kind of like they are prying into a very hidden area of their life. The AC person might push the Sun person away if they feel like the Sun person is too invasive and doesn't respect their boundaries. On the up side, this could also show a psychic connection and ESP between two people.. assuming other things in the synastry are positive...
Still... having the double whammy with this person.... It's a bit surprising that you dislike her so much. Another possibility is that being a public figure - the portrayal you have seen of her in the media - might not completely match the "real" person. It can be pretty different to actually be in the same room as someone and have a conversation. If you ever meet her face2face... you might surprise yourself!
Is the Mars-Saturn very close?

Hi Ava, I'm so happy Teasel let me know about the forum This was an awesome idea, and I really missed you guys. It's interesting how you avoided your husband on first impressions lol It makes for a nice "how we met" story! Usually the Ascendant aspects are supposed to be felt right away - since the AC symbolises the person's "appearance" and body language. Are there hard aspects to this conjunction?

I have come to think that planets onvsb Angle aren't inherently good or Bad. They are becoming prominent though and cannot be ignored. Their other aspechts will therefore become more signifikant. But even with that in mind the other aspects Mist be considered.

Also other aspects might be temporarily overriding If those other aspects are pulled ti the fore by transits.

odetteI agreed With your Statement about the public Person Thing. I have Had the Same thought that thus might be different. Also beendet wondering If in this Case the MC might be more at Play, and also incompatibilities shown by the Natal and especially the public persons MC and possibly Mercury, Mars and Sun, deoending how visible those planets are. Mercury because of the way they Talk and Mars AS signifying their way of acting. Oh and Welcome! 😀

I get along with most Taureans... even when I ended up not appreciating them in the long run. What’s interesting is I never jive with Capricorn Risers even tho I have a stellium in the sign. I’m better at getting along with them now but there’s always that distance
I recently really disliked someone with whom my pluto square their Saturn, composite Saturn conjunct mars-venus node
Have you look into Chiron? I’ve also noticed I can jive well with the certain planets of one sign but not others,... or vice versa. For example I almost always ended up disliking Leo venus, but the moon, mars, sun are fine.

So great to see you!! Love your avatar! And it's so nice to get your astrology thoughts again, too. Thanks anela ! (teasel) My husband has sun conjunct Uranus square my Scorpio Uranus and opposing my Aqua Mercury. I think we were attracted to each other's appearances the first day, even though he's much older. And a hallmark of our relationship has been physical closeness, like if we're in the same room chances are we're in physical contact. The oil and water thing is about our personalities and the way I'm non-confrontational and self-contained in a social setting (in person), while he will deliberately go against the grain. Still, I'm attracted to his mind and certain things about how he presents himself. We're both non-conformists in similar ways, I guess Leo energy can get eccentric, because the king of the jungle doesn't need to follow anyone else. lol... So if I say, "F that, I don't want to do that," talking about bureaucratic obligations or something, he is totally supportive and has my back, and vice versa.

What’s interesting is I never jive with Capricorn Risers even tho I have a stellium in the sign. I get along with them but many times they are more serious than me. Speaking of feelings about celebrities.... www.astrotheme.com/celebrities/m1/capricorn/1.htmI really like Gwen Stefani whose ASC is tightly conjunct my sun; I watch her in interviews and tend to agree with or admire whatever she says. Ditto for Gisele Bundchen. But I think Megan Fox is too serious and secretly sad about something (my sun falls in her 12H) and I find that unnerving. Same for Russell Brand, there's this urge to want to get inside his head and learn about what he's not saying (my sun in his 12th). It's weird because he talks non-stop but I still feel like, "But what do you REALLY think?"

Thank you Ava! I love your new nick name btw. I keep feeling like calling you Faith, but actually "Ava" really suits your personality - it has a peaceful, calm vibe <3
And.. wow Sun conjunct Uranus is definitely attractive. I've only experienced this once in a romantic context and we were very interested in each other and pretty much magnetised. Astrologers always pick on Uranus as "that planet that ruins everything and overthrows stability". It's awesome to see a long lasting relationship with Uranus so prominent. It really goes to show that what matters most is love and commitment ... because any aspect has a positive or negative side.
I'm a big Gwen Stefani fan too. I know most of her songs of by heart lol
