Interesting story! Only thing is, I believe the Odysseus part has different versions(?) Oh well, that's what happens with such tales, I suppose. I like that she's not a sucker (for the most part). You go girl, poison the @$$holes who p*ssed you off. I have it at 22 Libra, conjunct Sun. Lol. It's funny that I often make jokes about hosting dinner parties like that one. 'Course, the stories vary.
Honestly though, this is me trying to be seductive:
From: Mystic Medusa. I assure you, I have none of those powers. But it's nice to be *cool* for a day.

Ava, thanks for this thread. Wikipedia suggests a different pronunciation - SUR SEE - which is how I'm used to saying it. Circe is conjunct my Pluto - only 4 minutes apart - and sextile Neptune and Karma. I can't see any enchantress type manifestations in my love life or otherwise. I like the references to witchcraft though - maybe I have the potential to transform myself or develop psychic abilities through pagan or shamanic rituals ?!!

His Circe is in 0.04 Aquariums Haha, for a minute I was wondering how many fish you could fit in 1/25th of an aquarium.

3rd house, inconjunct Saturn, sextile Neptune. I guess it's sextile Jupiter by maybe four degrees, so I don't know if it's close enough. Opposed MC by a few degrees/conjunct IC.

Thank you, ladies! edit --- Sun conjunct Circe is very cool but let's hope you don't really end up living on an island, physical or metaphysical! I wonder what the difference is, between signs. Any ideas, lumina and 12YearsABlob ? Does your Circe sign show how you operate, in this type of activity? Sag Circe excels in education and ancient language spells (Latin works ) while Libra Circe specializes in making you feel that you need them there in order for things to feel very balanced and level (?) Well what EXACTLY are you thinking when you're seducing men and turning their friends into animals? FruityLlama and anela , can you think of how your Circe sign shows up (if you feel that it does)? @astrokeen "maybe I have the potential to transform myself or develop psychic abilities through pagan or shamanic rituals ?!!" Wouldn't that be great? Seems extremely intense though. I wonder if this indicates opportunities to bond through hardship, even by saving someone's life, or being for someone there as they go through a serious low point. Wild guess, does this aspect your Angel asteroid at all?

Maybe I need to tap into my Circe-powers? I mean I have Circe, Sekhmet, Reiki, Tesla and Mentor and Sheba on the same degree, 27 SAg. (remember Sheba, the queen who bewitched Salomo?) Robinhood, Sun and Mercury and Nofretete (the famous Egyptian queen) on 25 Sag. Merlin is on 24 Sag. King and Caesar are on 26 Sag Well I guess you better don`t mess with me for real. I also looked up Salome (562) and Sheherezade (643), but they are not part of the Stellium. Salome is on 26 Cap (on P`s Venus, he better watch out. AFter all John lost his head because of Salome, literally! ) Sheherezade is on 11 Pisces exact on my chartruler Jupiter. As for Salome it is said that she was bewitching the king (I think her stepfather actually) by dancing the "dance of the seven veils" and so seduced him to grant her every wish, and when he conceded, she demanded that the head of John the baptist was being presented to her on a platter. (to satisfy her mother`s wish of seeing John executed). the king had given his promise and was bound to it, though unwillingly (result for John was of course letal, even if the king was not happy about it). Sheherezade was the famous girl from the Persian fairy tales, where the king would marry a girl and then have her excecuted the evening and when she was marrying the king, she told him a story, but left out the end (she invented the cliffhanger I think. ), but the king was so intrigued he wanted to hear the continuation of the story and so he postponed her execution from day to day, cause she intrigued him so much, and over a time he fell truely in love with her and she with him, and that was it to the excecution-nunsense. Funny enough I have MELPOMENE I think on 11 PIsces, too, the muse of tragedy/ tragic storytelling. and the muse of chorus incidentally. lol But anyway 27 SAgittarius seems pretty loaded in my chart. lol

Sun conjunct Circe is very cool but let's hope you don't really end up living on an island, physical or metaphysical! Hmm..wow, what a spin to put on it. Hadn't thought of it that way. But I like the sound of that. Well what EXACTLY are you thinking when you're seducing men and turning their friends into animals? I'm thinking, "Here's my entertainment for the night." . . . Okay, I'll think about how Libra Circe works and get back to you...

Ava Actually now that you mention it, I was inventing/ creating a spell/ prayer on Latin many many Suns ago, actually on Halloween/ Samhain. I was sort of chanting (to myself mostly) that prayer for a few days I think, maybe even a week, and the curious thing ist that actually within 3 months my life changed. or something happened 3 months later, that gave my life a different direction again (actually putting me on a path I had left some years before, but apparently was not finished with). Actually I have that prayer still here with me, though I never really looked into it anymore. Well except I reactivated it some years ago. But anyway it sounds silly, and I did not even know why I was doing that, but just felt like it. But then again seriously, who feels like "Oh let`s invent a chant and prayer for guidance". It seems a bit crazy. lol I`ve also, well actually some years ago I was deliving into learning Sumerian, because I had once dreamed of Sumerian letters that I could not read, and I was googling a Sumerian dictionary, thinking I must be mad, but I actually found one. lol

Well what EXACTLY are you thinking when you're seducing men and turning their friends into animals? As for the second part - just turning their insides out. Showing them for what they truely are internally. (that is a popular topic in Greek myths btw. Turning people into objects or animals or plants to point out very literally a characteristic of their personality, and well those men were on the run after a lost war. They were soldiers, now let us think what most soldiers do, without a cause, being frustrated from having lost the war, aimless, disoriented, without any values.... we`ve all read the stories in the news.... just because Homer was not writing it out in detail, does not mean those men where any different than modern soldiers, with their plundering and raping. What is interesting is that Odysseus is portrayed differently, but then again he was the hero of the story. lol Buts eriously? He spent 5 years or whatever on that island, fathered a child with Circe and then tells his wife later on he did not "notice" ?

Maybe I need to tap into my Circe-powers? Aah, you know - I was typing and erasing this during my post. I also looked up Salome (562) and Sheherezade (643), but they are not part of the Stellium. Yeah, those two are also enchantresses, after a fashion. The difference between them and someone like Circe is (probably) that their "skills" were born out of necessity, whereas Circe was just naturally like that. Well, that and the ability to perform magic of course. I'm sure those two had natural charisma too, or they couldn't have pulled it off. Just that their actions were mostly circumstantial.. I know your post wasn't comparing them, just thinking out loud. Side note: I read (most of) the original 1001 Arabian nights and was really shocked that it was deemed appropriate for kids. I mean, solely in the context of the store I got it from - dunno if it's the same at other places. I read it when I was very young, and it was in kids section. Ha, guess the store manager didn't know what kind of "stories" were in it.

Ugh, I know right? MEN.
And he conveniently dodges her magic skills or whatever and is able to charm *her* instead. Which is code for taming the shrew (of sorts). Like, "no matter how powerful a sorceress he encountered, our hero was not only invulnerable to her magic, but also turned her into another of his dumb mistresses who popped out a child for him".
What BS.
