Firstly, a brief explanation about the main figures in Hindu mythology/religious texts. Only the names in bold have asteroids:
The Universal soul (God) has three aspects: Brahman (creator), Vishnu (preserver) and Siva (destroyer).
Each of these has a female principle or consort. So we have the following pairs: Siva + Parvati Brahman + Saraswati Vishnu + Lakshmi
Vishnu, the preserver, incarnated on Earth many times in order to liberate humans from evil. Of these, Ramachandran (or Rama) and Krishnan (or Krishna) were the most recent. Ramachandran was a prince who was married to Sita. They were a model loyal and loving couple.
Siva, incidentally, has many names or forms. As does Parvati. Asteroids for Siva -- Siva, Rudra, Mahakala, Shankar, Hara, Mahalingam Asteroids for Parvati -- Parvati, Kaali, Tara
These are interchangeable. Kaali expresses the more fierce aspects, whilst Parvati is the gentler, more compassionate form. However, Tara can be both depending on whether one is referring to Tara in Hinduism (fierce) or Buddhism (compassionate). ________________________________________________________________________________

Faith, these from a very prominent theme in your chart. 5 planets including Sun and Moon conjunct a Vedic asteroid, as well as NN and DNA. Perhaps you had past lives and undertook spiritual practices in India. SiVA/DNA indicates that you carry the effects of these with you. You mentioned you had sensed a past life there.
Have you ever tried tried chanting a Siva mantra? You may be able to activate those influences or memories. ______________________________________________________
I have Vedic asteroids at 22 degrees in most houses forming all sorts of geometrical patterns. And a cluster in Cap. Ramachandran 21.14 Soma 21.32 Anand 22.15 Mahakala 22°21 Mahalingam 23.57
Also Balakrishna on my Asc, Varuna on MC Hara on Saturn Sita on Uranus Padmanabhan on Mercury Venkateswaran on SN Parvati on Regulus Vishnu on Antares

I hold Rama and Sita (and Durga, I wonder why there's no asteroid for her?! She's different from Kali) very dear to my soul. Can't wait to take a look in a bit! ❤❤❤

Parvati would be the closest to Durga.

I know so little at this point. I do sing some Indian mantras. Curiously I live in a neighborhood which, up until about ten years ago, was very white Protestant...then people from India started to move here. Now there are so many of them that any time I go for a walk, I see probably ten Indians for every white person. I love it and never could have imagined my life turning out this way. I guess it's a tiny bit like being in India. They're so friendly but tend to stick together, so I don't talk to them much. Another thing: I think about food in Ayurvedic terms all the time. The meal I make for myself the most, by far, is a vegetable soup from an Ayurvedic cookbook. With homemade ghee. It's easy to imagine that I have done that across lifetimes...it's so natural and earthy and colorful and happy. I'm deeply attached.

My friend's wife in Maylasia sent me a really wonderful book about the basics of Hinduism, as she's very devout. It was so kind of her. I should have organized mine like you did yours, Ava . Instead mine is all jumbled and impossible to read. And I haven't looked at everyone's charts yet, with so many asteroids to check! I actually tried to become a member of a Hindu place of worship, but it's like becoming Catholic. You have to go to classes, etc. As I'm typing there's a tapestry of Durga on my wall, and a bamboo hanging picture of Lakshmi. I listen to a lot of Hindu mantras, this being my favorite rendition of the Gayatri mantra. <3

I think Hindu places of worship have pros and cons as in other religions. I visit but never get involved.
Hinduism spans many thousand of years. The mythologies which included accounts of incarnations of Vishnu (Krishna, Rama) and stories of gods in heaven came later, after the ancient Vedic texts. There are branches of Hinduism based on those philosophical vedic texts and do not have any form of idol worship. God is seen as the universal soul or spirit (paramatma) and is without form. Practices are mainly meditation based. The term Kundalini yoga is a western invention since all yoga and meditation aims to unite the individual soul with the universal soul and makes references to the kundalini/chakras. Some practices of course make more references than others.
I found Autobiography of a yogi to be very inspirational and informative - but the Self-Realisation Fellowship that emerged from this book has had its ups and downs.
I don't follow any particular teacher now as all have their foibles and oddities or they have passed away. Thich Nhat Hahn seems irrepoachable. I was fortunate enough to attend a 3 day retreat with him in a small group (100) which is a very rare given his fame. Individual contact with him is usually not possible. And Sri Aurobindo (no longer alive) is amazing. His books and ashram in india are lovely. It is the kind of philosophy I can relate to, one that requires you to engage your critical faculties. I steer away from teachers whose systems demand trust and blind belief - it doesn't work for me.
Violets, I think if you keep to less that 2 degrees in the first instance, you will narrow down to a manageable few. The ones I mentioned in my chart have aspects less than 1 degree.
I like Deva Premal's gayatri mantra video -

Wow, Violets ! I wish I knew what all of it meant....baby's sun conjunct Krishna by minutes! That is lovely. He will be pure hearted and righteous in his actions. Krishna is considered to be a great incarnation smiilar to that of Christ. Interesting that those two words have a similar sound.

Oh my gosh, @astrokeen ! That's pretty cool that you were able to go on that retreat! Okay, I'll get mine down to less than 2 degrees. It's so exasperating, because a lot of them are *almost* conjunct. I've noticed this with certain asteroids, like my family's DNA degrees. Just almost conjunct, but not quite enough for an asteroid.

Faith, I too have Karma conjunct Sun. Also NN conjunct Vertex which I guess amounts to a very fated life, or I can't somehow avoid what's coming my way. Although having Felicitas exactly conjunct Karma gives me hope that I carry positive Karma to this life.

@astrokeen , that rendition is beautiful! I agree with you about religions, I really just wanted to learn more. I'm likewise inclined towards Catholicism honestly, but again with the classes. I'm just drawn to them rather specifically, more than other religions or philosophies. But I appreciate all religions and philosophies, to some degree (as I suspect most of us here do). Wow, it looks like we all have our share of conjunctions with all of these civilizations! I find it particularly interesting when one of these asteroids is conjunct a royal star or GC.

Ha, ha! Violets, you think I am Catholic, don't you! I'm actually a Hindu by birth but have followed it to a minimal degree in recent years. I disagree with lots. As I'm sure you do with Catholicism.

Hahahaha no, I hadn't assumed you were Catholic, lol. I just find myself curiously drawn to those two religions, and just a couple of other types of "religions" for want of a better term (ancient pagan holidays, etc). I'm just slightly envious that you are Hindu, @astrokeen ! I find it so lovely for some reason. I wasn't raised with any particular religion, just a very basic mix of Christianity and weird ghost stories and tales of supernatural experiences from my great aunts.
