Thank you, @astrokeen. ❤
I would caution you to research which type of kratom you want to use before purchasing it (some types are designed more for mental clarity, and some more for the calming effect). My friend had probably done the research prior to purchasing hers, but when I went to order some for myself I realized there are different types, sort of like tea?
I'll read that article; I've noticed that the low THC content strains of pot do more to relax me than my medication does, BUT--I don't do well with THC, so I have to be careful not to accidentally take too much. I also only use it in the evening, so that's a bit impractical on some days when I NEED to be less stressed, lol.
But I'm definitely noticing that both are incredibly helpful for anxiety. ❤

@astrokeen ughh, lol. I'll read it, but I ate enough psychedelic mushrooms in my youth to know that they were a horrid nightmare for me every time. LSD on the other hand, was enjoyable for me at first. After I developed PTSD it wasn't enjoyable anymore, because my spiritual energy had been disrupted and I wasn't in a good space any longer. I believe that drugs like LSD (I'm not sure about mushrooms because my experiences were always bad regardless) show us what is within ourselves--if we're in a bad space, that becomes magnified. Likewise if we're in a peaceful or content space. But I'll read the article, I'm glad that works for some people! Maybe in the right setting? ❤ I'll add that THC has a similarly undesirable effect on me, so I have to use specific strains that have very low THC content. But that seems to work pretty well in the evening.

I've never heard of it. I've heard that Rhodiola helps with PTSD. It helped in April, when I was so foggy brained that I tried to put the kettle into the microwave (ugh). I took some, before drinking my tea, and it helped within half-an-hour. I've found that anything like that, that's also a stimulant, can make anger worse at times, though. When it's obvious that you aren't just grumpy or hangry, but really cheesed off.

Update: I've been using this daily for a month, and experienced zero withdrawal symptoms when I ran out for a couple of days. It's unbelievable as far as pain relief (I sprained my ankle a couple of months ago, and my back also got tweaked). Fantastic for anxiety, and also gives me a little boost of energy/focus without overdoing it. Side effects are itchiness (same with heroin and Vikodin), and occasionally a slight twinge of nausea (also the same with heroin and Vicodin). I have tried countless antidepressants, anti anxiety medications, and herbal supplements over the past 15 years, and literally nothing has helped sufficiently. Most of it has hardly helped enough to bother with (if at all), and often comes with unpleasant side effects or withdraws symptoms. The only thing is that the pain relief is so strong that when I ran out I realized that I really need a brace for my ankle, because I'm putting too much pressure on it without realizing it. Prior to finding kratom I was having to occasionally take Vicodin for pain relief--I can guarantee that if I had taken it daily for a month I would have been feeling some noticeable withdrawals. So...if you know anyone who has major anxiety or pain, I can say this has been safe and effective for me--unlike everything doctors have prescribed.

Thank you, Ava. I will say that it's mentally addictive for people like me, but no more than something like caffeine or chocolate.

My son had surgery yesterday and was prescribed percocets. I had the prescription filled but told my son I would only give them if he was being tortured by pain. I've had five babies naturally, without painkillers, so I'm thinking "it's alright, temporary pain can be survived." It's not like he has an issue that would lead to chronic pain....if he can just get through this recovery phase, he should be alright. Really wish they had given him a prescription for medical marijuana instead! If only... Anyway, I'm thinking of Kratom if it gets bad enough, I really do not want to cave in and let him have the percocets. Another thing we're trying (along with NSAIDs) is Arnica 200c. A lot of people in the amazon comments section claim that it's effective even for post-op pain. Today he's gone from bad to "better," so I hope we can stay in that manageable-pain zone.

Wow, they prescribed Oxy.. Sounds really bad, Ava . Hope he gets better and the pain stays manageable. In the long run, your choice will pay off, I'm sure. It's a good call to make. And you have alternate meds if it gets unbearable.. Hope you can get your hands on the ones you want..

Ava I keep trying to respond here, but Uranus is creating typical issues with my internet, etc. I hope he feels better soon.
